Reviews and Grades
Jun. 14th, 2006 12:08 pmSince I have been reviewing things and using a letter grade, it occurred to me that I should explain how I use the system:
C is an average, enjoyable movie with nothing special one way or the other. This is what Cs mean, standard work, nothing more or less.
Better then C, means that I think it has something worth seeing in it. The rare A is reserved for movies I think everyone should see, if you even halfway share my taste in movies.
An F is reserved for a movie that fails on all levels and is entirely unwatchable. Luckily, I have not seen any that "achieve" that goal.
On Sunday, we watched the live action G.T.O. (Great Teacher Onizuka) movie. With Onizuka being played by Takashi Sorimachi, the same guy who does the voice for the anime. Pretty much a typical outsider arrives and shakes things up, leading to the solving of problems, movie but still fun. Takashi Sorimachi really does a great Onizuka. My Grade: C/C+
