Yeah, Happy New Year all!

Been a strange week all around, Peter has been in and out, our friend Justin was down from Alabama for the New Year and work continued.

Managed to get in lots of games of Shadowfist, even though Peter had left his decks in Florida (he borrowed mine or Keith's). My ascended decks did pretty well, managing several victories against tough opposition. Had a great game with my Transformed Animals deck against Justin's Dragon Event deck that seesawed back and forth the entire game until I was able to seize victory at the end (with less than ten cards left in my deck).

Saw Collateral on DVD. Tom Cruise plays a really good killer. The first three quarters of the movie is excellent, but the ending is weak as it fall back on standard action movie fair (and, of course, the good guy wins, unscathed, in the end). Still, worth watching.

And just got back from seeing Lemony Snickett's A Series of Unfortunate Events in the theatre. Good fun, with Jude Law as the voice of Lemony Snickett. Jim Carey is a bit too . . . exuberant in his role of Count Olaf for my tastes, but still good. The movie is also very strong visually, I liked the look, even where the CGI was visible (ILM you should be doing seamless stuff, shame on you).

We have also been moving books up into the new library. Hooray! Heavy work though, books weigh a lot when you get a bunch of them together. We are doing it piecemeal so as not to strain anything.
