More Body Snatching going on

So, we watched the 1978 remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers. It moves the setting from a small town in California to San Francisco, adds much improved special effects, but slows and needlessly muddies the action and plot. For me, not anywhere near as satisfying (or, perhaps ironically, as believable) as the original but interesting to watch all the same. Has a very young Jeff Goldblum and a great cameo by Kevin McCarthy (the star of the original movie). My Grade: C

The '78 one has that horriffic howling sound they make when they discover that someone isn't one of them. Having watched this at a very early age (maybe a wee bit too early, like) that sound still sends shivers up my spine.

Yes, that was a brilliant touch. One of the better points of the movie.
