Review - Arachnophobia
Nov. 16th, 2006 12:03 pmThis was on my list of movies to see as everyone else of my generation seems to have seen it and I felt left out of the loop.
Arachnophobia is a very nicely done, b-grade horror movies centering on spiders (unsurprisingly). Specifically, Venezuelan spiders from deep in the rain forest that breed from a queen like ants and are extremely poisonous. The movie plays all the classic B-Horror tropes: danger from a mysterious part of the world, the new family in town, hostile local authorities (including the police) who do not understand the threat, cool scientist that understand the problem and a main character that (naturally) is afraid of spiders. Very satisfactory. My Grade: B-
