Happy Boxing Day

Had a quiet Christmas, just family and a few friends. Had a beef roast with roasted potatoes, roasted veggies, cranberry salad and pies! Very tasty.
On Christmas Eve we watched Sahara, an amusing enough action movie with some really neat scenes and an amazingly implausible plot. But fun, very much a RPG movie. My Grade: C

simon_draskovic loaned us his first season DVD set of Veronica Mars. It took us about two weeks to watch it all, even with the holidays. Yes, it is that good. It is a mystery mixed with high school hi-jinx and a healthy helping of angst. Very well plotted, only a few missteps that I disliked, and I felt the ending was a little rushed. But among the best TV series I have seen recently. Good acting, tight writing, and, although there is not supernatural stuff involved at all, it has an early Buffy vibe running through it. Highly recommended. My Grade: A-
