Stumbled across a site called
LangMaker, a sight devoted to Conlangs (constructed languages) i.e. artificial, fantasy and otherwise constructed languages. That is pretty cool in its own right but it also had a link to the Wikipedia Entry on
Lojban, a
logical language designed to avoid imprecision and allow the tight expression of language in a logical and complete form. It comes with a great light bulb joke which rather neatly summarizes the aims of
Lojban:
Q: How many Lojbanists does it take to change a broken light bulb?
A: Two: one to decide what to change it into,
and one to figure out what kind of bulb emits broken light.i.e. to avoid language which can be misinterpreted. Amusing.
