Not quite as neat as it sounds. But still amusing, it works like this:
1. Comment on this post.
2. I will give you a letter.
3. Think of 5 fictional characters whose name starts with that letter and post their names and your comments on these characters in your LJ.
comic_monkey gave me Y. The punk.
Yellow Jacket of Marvel Comics. Dr Henry Pym (formerly Antman, formerly Giant-Man) brilliant scientist, miserable human being. Yellow Jacket was one of his many attempts to reinvent himself and like the others, it ended in failure. Not, as you can tell, one of my favorite characters but at least an interesting and flawed one.
Captain Mike Yates of UNIT. From Doctor Who, specifically the 3rd Doctor who was trapped on Earth and helped UNIT a lot. Yates is a strong character who ends up on the wrong side of a latter conflict with UNIT and the Doctor. But still a good character and one I quite liked.
Tasha Yar from ST:tNG. Who get killed late in the first season in a pointless way because they realized they realized their ensemble cast was too large. A potentially interesting character who was never really developed (though ends up as part of a later series plot twist).
Gertrude Yorkes aka Arsenic of the Runaways (Marvel Comics). A character without superpower in a superhero comic, she was sharp tongued and bright, and a teenager. One of my favorites of the Runaways (which I only read when
forvrin loans me his).
And I cannot think of a fifth one yet . . .
