Caught the Sunday mantinee of Iron Man and I was impressed. I was hoping it would be good and Marvel and Robert Downey Jr. deliver the good. Possibly the best superhero movie ever . . . even edging out Spiderman. It hits all of the right notes, the special effects are almost seamless, the acting is strong and the plot hold are all genre-based. It was fantastic. I am not even particularly an Iron Man fan but Robert Downey Jr. is a pitch perfect Tony Stark. Though I did have a little mental trouble recasting "the Dude" as corporate villain, but Jeff Bridges did a great job too. The first half may have been a little slow but the last third makes up for it. My Grade: A-

I completely failed to realize that was Jeff Bridges. When I was watching the movie I thought it was William Hurt!

Of course! Always do.

And . . . a nice setup for the Avengers in 2010 and confirmation were are in the Ultimates universe. But not as cool of an end piece as I had hoped.

Oh, totally forgot to note how subtle and smooth the product placement was in Iron Man!
