I have decided to talk more about gaming on my LJ. Good idea? I hope so.

As some of you know, I do some freelance writing for the RPG industry. As things I have worked on get published in the future, I will be sure to have links to them. As soon as I have my comp copy that is . . . So I should have a new link soon, just waiting, you know?

As to ongoing games, most Wednesdays I get together with [livejournal.com profile] forvrin, [livejournal.com profile] wuxiadaddy, [livejournal.com profile] nemloen and [livejournal.com profile] coffeebadass for our Indie RPG night where we (mostly) play indie RPGs. Since we were down a player yesterday, we had a rousing game of Drowning and Falling, in which I lost three characters. Though, of late, we have mostly be playing [livejournal.com profile] forvrin's self made Pools System game set in the Avatar: the Last Air Bender universe which has been a blast. It has also been fun to watch the system evolve through playtest.

On Friday, I DM some D&D with [livejournal.com profile] kezia365 (aka my lovely wife), [livejournal.com profile] kawakaze and that guy [livejournal.com profile] forvrin. It is, of course, set in the Sea of Stars, my personal D&D campaign setting.

In our current story arc, the characters have been tasked by the God of Death, who is chained upon his throne in the shadowy land between life and death, to become his new heralds. As part of this quest, they must find the symbols of the previous heralds: a flute, a lantern, a set of scales and a a sickle. Death has given them a compass, made from a link of the chains that bind him, that will direct each of the characters to the item they are most closely associated with. Now they have set off to do so, searching for the scales first, traveling through the lands of the recently dead and the lost souls . . .
