Nice if you are the "lawful authority", not so nice otherwise.

Giuliani scares the hell out of me. I found him kind of palatable at first because of some of his relatively liberal social views, until I started learning more about him and his mile-wide authoritarian streak.

What really worries me is that a lot of people seem to find him attractive because of his authoritarianism and in spite of his social views.

People seem to confuse authoritarian style with leadership, though Giuliani can be an effective leader as well, and his social views are vaguely in line with many people (especially as he has blurred where he actually stands of late).

Granted, I wasn't going to vote for Giuliani to begin with, but that article nicely enforced why. Seems that the higher you climb in politics, the thinner the air which explains some of the idiocy.
