So, what with work and preparing for Christmas, life has been a bit disorganized. No surprised there.
Last weekend, we did manage to watch El Cid, starring Charlton Heston as El Cid. An epic which plays pretty fast and loose with the history of the period. But, has some good acting and Heston's portrayal of a man who is entirely devote to honor, whatever it personally costs him, is quite impressive. As are some of the battle scenes, back when they actually had to hire hundreds of extras to have a battle. Worthwhile seeing if you like such things, but it is over three hours long. My Grade: C+/B-
Last night, watched The Exorcism of Emily Rose which in not so much about an exorcism as about the trail of a priest who was involved in an exorcism . . . Interesting with some nice filming and the few bits that did show the possession and exorcism were appropriately creepy or shocking. Interesting but not great. My Grade: C
Finished my part of the free project (barring last minute revisions by the author) and I will let you know more about it as I can.
Things have been off and on busy at Tyche's. Most of the students have gone home, denting our business, but Christmas shopping is picking up and odd things are selling. We also managed a huge donation to Toys for Tots which made us feel good. The Marine Master Sergeant who picked the stuff up was very grateful as they usually just get toys for younger children but they get lots of requests for toys for teenagers.
