Joxer, originally uploaded by Knight of Roses.

On Saturday, we did something we should not have. We adopted another cat. He is an 8-month old formerly male shelter adoptee. He came with the name of Nixon, as he did not look like a water spirit, we decided to change it and it took until late Sunday to decide on one.

We decided on Joxer (full name: Joxer Nixon Toshi) as he is mostly brave and very tidy, and overshadowed by our other two cats who are both female (and one of whom is a warrior-princess).

Paisley has adjusted fine. Aeolif is being very petulant and stand-offish though, we hope she will come around soon.

I am not allowed anywhere near the cat rescue, as we already have a boy cat and two girls. None of them are what you might call 'normal', but the boy is far easier to deal with than either of the girls. Frankie is v much a people cat - actually, he probably thinks he *is* people - whereas Josie is our warrior princess and deploys her superior weaponry at the drop of a hat. Katie is .... Katie. Josie doesn't like Katie, therefore Katie spends a lot of time on Josie Avoidance. Is just as well Katie has ears the size of radar dishes ....

Well, it was not that we were looking for another cat . . . There is a pet store a few doors down from where Laura buys her fabric and they have cats up for adoption. We always look, because, well, we like cats. We first saw Joxer on Tuesday and he was so friendly and kind. But we said, no, we have two cats. We stopped back on Friday, because Laura needed some bobbins and he was still there. The cat he was sharing a cage with had a 'to be picked up notice' but not him. On Saturday, we went back for him, half-way hoping that someone else had adopted him . . .

But no, there he was, waiting for a home. So, that was it, a third cat. But three is really our maximum, no more.

What a picture! He's got his toys, his grooming supplies, some reading material... looks a bit like you interrupted him with his magazine.

What a sweet face. And his feet are huge! Joxer is going to be a very large kitty.
