Quote from Doctor Who - The End of Time (Part II)

The Master: But, this is fantastic isn't it? The Time Lords restored!

The Doctor: You weren't there, in the final days of the war. You never saw what was born. That if the time lock's broken then everything is coming through. Not just the Daleks but the Skaro Degradations, The Horde of Travesties, The Nightmare Child, the Could-Have-Been King with his armies of Mean-Whiles and Never-Weres. The world turned into Hell, and that's what you opened right above the Earth. Hell is descending.

The Master: My kind of world.

Words, Words, Words

Be sure that you are using them correctly and precisely.

"The English language is an arsenal of weapons. If you are going to brandish them without checking to see whether or not they are loaded, you must expect to have them explode in your face from time to time." -Stephen Fry The Liar

Thoughts on the situation in the Lebanon

In a recent interview, General Norman Schwartzkopf was asked if he thought there was room for forgiveness toward Hezbollah.

The General said:
"I believe that forgiving Hezbollah is God's function. The Israeli's job is to arrange the meeting."

A good article on the Israeli position can be found here from Spiegel Online.

Review - Three Days of the Condor

We watched this last night. Three Days of the Condor is a superb movie, playing on Cold War and fears of other crisis. Robert Redford does an excellent job as Joe Turner aka "Condor", the CIA researcher who is suddenly sucked into a deadly conspiracy. Max von Sydow plays Joubert, a mercenary killer. Strong plot, iincredible camera work and filming. Very good, well worth seeing. My Grade: A-

One of my favorite quotes from the movie:
Joubert: Well, the fact is, what I do is not a bad occupation. Someone is always willing to pay.
Joe Turner: I would find it... tiring.
Joubert: Oh, no - it's quite restful. It's almost peaceful. No need to believe in either side, or any side. There is no cause. There's only yourself. The belief is in your own precision.
