Superhero Politics

Can I help but be amused by the debate over the politics of superheroes? Starting over here at Newsday with an article by Elliott Serrano and moving to the much more geekish (and interesting) article on the TOR website by Jim Henley (and pointed out to me on the Reason Hit&Run Blog).

Thoughts on the Georgia-Russia Conflict

It is a complex situation and the Georgian President obviously miscalculated but my take on it? The Russians suckered him in. Reasons? Because the Russian military, not the best organized military for rapid response, had two military forces ready to massively counter-attack the Georgian forces. One ready to take South Ossetia back, the other that swept out of Abkhazia to insure that that area was secured and all military threats to both were removed. Nicely played by Moscow.
