Review- The Third Man
Jun. 26th, 2007 12:27 pmOver the weekend, we watched The Third Man based on the story by Graham Greene with a screenplay by Greene. Set in post-World War II Vienna, a city divided into Zone of Occupation (American, British, French and Soviet) and a jointly administered "International Zone". It is haven for smugglers and illicit activities as people try to rebuild after the war. There is still rubble and wrecked building everywhere. The filming is amazing, a stark black and white, skillfully using shadows. The plot is dark, as one would expect, and full of lies and betrayal. A wonderful movie, well plotted and expertly acted. My Grade: A
I now want to use the idea of a jointly administered city as a plot element in a game.
