Review - Alien Nation (TV series)
Apr. 20th, 2007 09:36 pmOver the last few weeks, we watched Alien Nation, the TV series, based on the same idea as the move of the same name. Basic plot, alien ship crash lands on Earth carrying a quarter of a million "newcomers", alien slaves, who have to be integrated into American society. The show suffers from all of the limitations of late 80s TV dramas with an inabilty to carry plottlines between episodes and ham-handed morality. But, equally bad, is the feeling that a lot of the early episodes are recycled from other cop shows. It occasionally rises above its limitations, but only a few times, the rest of it is only average to just above average. Still, it was some of the only SF on at its time and it tried, not exceptionally well, but it tried to be a good show. My Grade: C+
