Catching up
Jan. 7th, 2007 09:29 pmSince I started play in the Winter Court L5R play by post, it has eaten my life, so I am trying to step back a bit. But I certainly am having fun.
Watched two horror/ish movies this last week:
The Evil Dead, the original. Not a good movie, but with some great scenes and quite impressive for being done on a $350,000 budget. An important movie in that it was what set Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell on the road to success, but, unless you like gore, comedic gore and even more gore, probably not a movie for you. My Grade: C/C-
Tale of Two Sisters, a Korean horror/psycho-thriller movie. Very confusing, with a constant bleed between the insanity of one (or more) of the characters, 'reality', and a possible supernatural element. The acted seemed good, as much as one can tell with a subtitled film, and the filming conveyed an excellent sense of foreboding. My Grade: C/C-
Finished watching the first season of the X Files. I was amazed by how much of the first season we had not seen before. Watching the X Files reminded me of just how much I enjoyed the show. Especially the episodes that do not deal with the conspiracy.
