Another Weekend Passes By
Sep. 24th, 2006 10:26 pmOn Friday, we got together with
fovrin and
kawakaze first for a lovely dinner at Taqueria Laparrilla and then migrated back to our place to chat and discuss playing some D&D in my Sea of Stars setting. I am really wanting to get some more gaming in so I hope it works out.
Saturday was another UGA Football gameday, but business at Tyche's was surprisingly brisk. Very nice.
On Saturday Night we watched the first two episodes of HBO's series ROME. Quite good, though it played a little fast and loose with history, and definitely fulfilled HBO's BPE ("Breasts Per Episode") policy for its drama series. The costumes and sets are quite amazing.
We also watched Johnny English, starring Rowan Atkinson in the title role as an MI-7 pencil pusher who is suddenly promoted to the role of top spy. Some good parody of the James Bond series here, along with some superb physical humor and some brutal embarrassment humor. John Malkovich plays the villainous (and French) Pascal Sauvage. Amusing but not great. My Grade: C+
On Sunday, I trimmed trees and dragged and cut branches so they could be taken away. Did some washing. And did some more writing on my Pirates project. Also watched more Midsomer Mysteries, which are quite wonderful.
