Watched Nightwatch, no not the occult horror movie from the East, but a thriller starring Ewan McGregor. About average for its type, the real star is the building that our main character works as a night watchman in (thus the title), it is very creepy, the coroner's building, complete with chamber of things in jars of ormaldehyde and the morgue. My Grade: C
We had a good turnout for the Shadowfist tournament, ten including myself. We played round robin, everyone playing everyone, nine rounds and all done in four hours. Much fun was had by all. I placed poorly, but it is alright, I will try to find a better deck for the next tournament.
On Saturday night, after a four week hiatus, we finally got back to Laura's Drakkonhold campaign. Lots of catching up among the players but not a great deal of playing, but still the game was advanced, slightly.
Sunday was an L5R tournament, total of fourteen players (I played to keep the numbers even). Did double elimination to keep things moving quickly. I dropped out to allow others to play. Everyone seemed to have a good time.
Laura, Viktor and I went to see the new Casanova. Quite delightful, nice humor, wonderful costumes and a fun plot. Tim McInnery shows up as the Doge of Venice! (The movie is set in Venice.) Everyone does a good job and seems to have such fun in their role. Highly enjoyable. My Grade: B+
