Both Busy and Nonproductive Weekend
Aug. 21st, 2005 09:16 pmThings have been picking up at Tyche's with the return of the students to UGA. Which is nice.
As the number of Anime DVDs for rent at Tyche's were overflowing the shelves for them, Saturday was spent (until 8pm) building an additional pair of rolling shelves in front of the current shelves. Laura and Dave did most of the work I just helped. After a quick bite to eat and a shower, we then played Laura's D&D campaign until midnight, getting a little further in the current adventure.
On Sunday, slept in a bit, cleaned up the house a little and then went to see the Skeleton Key, a suspense-horror movie. Not bad, but its internal logic seemed to contradict itself, making it an unsatisfactory experience. The acting was good though as were the subtly used special effects, and the scenery of the setting (rural Louisiana outside of New Orleans) was very interesting. My Grade: C+
Then a trip to refuel the Volvo and do some shopping for the week.
Now back a home, I have been trying, without much success, to get some more work done on my AEG project (having failed to do any writing on Saturday).
