Happy May Day and the Hithhiker's Guide
May. 1st, 2005 08:15 pmWent to see the new Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy movie today with a passel of friends (including ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
forvrin, kawakaze, xuande and three more nice people). Not as good as I had hoped, nor as bad as I had feared. Lots of nice nods to earlier versions of the Guide but ultimately too much to incorporate in a movie less than two hours long. The cast was a bit too, um, American for my tastes though John Malkovich's role was quite creepy and the addition of the POV Gun was brilliant. I would have liked to have seen more of the Guide but overall, I would rate it a C+/B-, worth seeing but not the best movie ever. (In other words, I rate it much higher than simon_draskovic, see his review here.)
Afterwards, went to grab some coffee at FUEL and did a bit of shopping at Lowe's, getting some stuff for Laura's gardening plans.
