Oct. 1st, 2004 10:19 amI kept meaning to get back and do this but I kept forgetting. As I have said before, journaling is not my forte.
Last Sunday, Laura and I went out to see Shaun of the Dead, a romantic comedy . . . with zombies. A good movie, well written, witty, and just all around good. If you like romantic comedies and zombies, this is the movie for you, if you do not like either or both, you will not enjoy it as much.
Saw Cronos on DVD, directed by Guillermo Toro and co-starting a young Ron Perlman. Some really interesting ideas and the framing plot device (the 'Cronos Device') is wicked. The pacing is slow at times, but worthwhile is you like the mystical, quasi-horror kind of movie.
Finished watching Six Feet Under, the complete first season on DVD. Drama about a funeral home, surprisingly good. Dark, funny and thoughtful by turns. One of the conceits of the show is that sometimes the spirit of the dead person will appear, often as his/her body is being embalmed, and talk to one of the other characters.
More soon, hopefully.
