(no subject)

Feeling blue, don't know why. Maybe because it has been such a quiet day at work which is not good for retail . . .

I promised to get more written so I figured that I had better do that. As I mentioned yesterday, I was called up for jury duty and actually ended up serving on a jury. There were only six people as it was just a misdemeanor case but it still took all day, I even got to be the fore-person and hand out verdict to the judge. A strange experience but still nice to be able to say that I have done my civil duty.

I also realized that I am starting my journal just in time to head off to Dragon*Con at the end of the week. So, I will not be able to update this while I am away as I do not think that I will have Internet access. Such is life.

Next time, why Akaihyo and the Sakura Dojo. I hope . . .

The Secret of Names

Now, as promised, why the names:

Akaihyo, from Japanese, Red Leopard (Akai = Red, Hyo = Leopard). It was the family name of my Legends of the Five Rings character in Wayne Peacock's game. She was a member of the Lion Clan (the most militant and honorable of the Clans) and trained as a scout, that is what her family's specialized in, and as a samurai. She was a very successful character, perhaps I'll tell some stories about her later.

The Sakura Dojo was the school she founded after she became a ronin (masterless samurai). So, it seemed like a natural title for my journal after I choose Akaihyo as my login . . .

In other news, I am now watching the third season of Babylon 5 on DVD. Such a good show . . . Beware the Shadows.
