More reviews, while
doji_kumoko is off at a conference, I have been watching various pieces from our media collection:
Zulu, Michael Caine's first movie, recreating the battle at Rorke's Drift where a handful of British soldiers held off 4,000 Zulus for two days. A superb battle movie, while the combat choreography is dated, the overall feel is wonderful. Heroism and duty is shown on both sides and the combat is still brutal (though remarkably lacking in blood). My Grade: A-
Doctor Who: the Sontarian Experiment from the Tom Baker-era. By far from the best story but still interesting, partly because it was entirely shot on location in Dartmoor, but also as it features the second appearance of the Sontarians. The disc also includes a special on the Sontarians (which is almost as long as the story itself!). My Grade: C-/C (C/C+ with special included)
