On Friday, we watched Daredevil. Not as bad as I had been led to believe, but still not a good. I thought Ben Affleck made a better then passable Daredevil, but the whole movie was pulled down by a weak last half of the plot. My Grade: C

Tonight we watched Interstate 60. Why have I not heard of this movie before? It is brilliant. Mythic America, nods to the Twilight Zone, well used cameos and a solid plot device that begs to be stolen for a RPG-campaign. My Grade: A-

Daredevil is probably better to watch at home than in the theater. I don't know if everyone had this experience, but for me it was positively painful because of the constant, heavy bass sound effects every time anything happened. Footsteps on concrete somehow made sounds in the 30-60 Hz range, and very, very loud ones at that.

I imagine it was done that way because of the nature of Daredevil's power, but it was just too much.

Probably so. I liked, visually, how they showed Daredevil's radar sense working.

So, I've been reading your movie reviews for about seven months now, and I have found that I generally give your grading scale a half to a full letter grade boost.

It's kind of funny how you had nothing bad to say about this movie, saying it was "brilliant" and it got an A-.

Anyway, I'm just pickin' at ya. Keep up the writing!

I did not want to say much about Interstate 60, it has a lot of nice twists and turns that are best discovered by watching the movie not by having someone tell you about them beforehand.
