Free Speech
The answer for speech you do not like is more speech. The answer to bad ideas is better ideas.
I often feel that some people go too far in their points of view, but I have no problem that they hold that point of view. My worldview is not so fragile that it cannot survive being challenged, in fact, I usually welcome such challenges when made in good faith and an open spirit of debate.
Do I get annoyed and even angry at those who hold what seem (to me) to be self-evidently foolish and destructive views? Of course. But I try not to take that out on the people involved. That does not help anyone.
Note: This is adapted from a reply to a friends post which is friends locked, but it seemed worthwhile to repeat in the current politically charged atmosphere.
