Blowing away . . .

Interesting article on the limits of wind power. I know that wind power, by it nature, was unreliable, but not how much that seriously limits it usefulness as a power source.

What about water power?

There's an article in Popular Mechanics from a while ago about a plan to use wind style turbines underwater and let the tides power them.

I thought it was neat. I am now thinking about getting off from work, as I have been here 10 hours. See you in a couple.

Again, I think it is an issue of getting consistent power generation. Tides, at least, are entirely predictable and would be easier to integrate into a grid. Also, seawater is highly corrosive so maintaining them in working order would be a challenge but I am sure people are working on it.
