Dr Who and the Internet

Watched the Doctor Who Christmas Invasion (provided by [livejournal.com profile] laughingfreeman). I am not totally convinced by Tennant as the Doctor, yet, most of the way there, but not fully convinced. Not a bad story overall with links to the new Torchwood series and hints about the direction the new series may take. Still very excited about the new series.

A nifty look at the state of the internet.

Agreed. Having seen it twice now, I felt the episode was very sonambulistic until the last fifteen minutes or so, which kicked every available ass in the house. I like the "no second chances" thing. I like the "six words that can end your reign" thing. I like that the new doctor has glasses (in fact, is it me or is there a generalised Davison vibe from him? Very family-oriented with Jackie and (M|R)icky, long coat with optional glasses.)

More Tenant available in the BBC Children in Need special (maybe three minutes between "Parting of the Ways" and "The Christmas Invasion") and in "Attack of the Graske" - Which isn't great. It's made for Interactive and as such has the Doctor talking directly to the audience. Iffy.
