Problems with computers
My nearly four years old laptop, has decided that she no longer likes to accept power from the AC adapter and, so, has stopped being usable as a computer. She is named Alice, after Alice in Wonderland, and I do speak to her on occasion, without expecting any reply of course. I could not even keep her running long enough to download all my files. This adversely effected all writing I had intended to do yesterday and with a busy day at the shop, meant that my NaNoWriMo writing did not advance at all.
Now, just besides generally complaining, it made me think of how I tend to anthropomorphize things I use a lot, like my computers. Is this a universal human tendency? Our car is named. Laura's computer is named. Do other people do this as well?
